Fake BISP form seller arrested

RAWALPINDI, Feb 27: Police arrested a man on the charge of selling fake application forms of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in Gunjmandi on Sunday.

The police received information that the man staying at a hotel was cheating public by selling fake application forms of BISP. The police raided the hotel and arrested Hafeezur Rehman, a resident of Bajaur, and recovered more than 120 fake BISP application forms from his possession.

According to preliminary police investigation, another man had provided the fake forms to Mr Rehman.

Inspector Khan Shabbir, who is leading the investigation into the case, said director BISP Zahir Pervez had lodged a complaint with the police stating some fraudsters were extorting money from people by selling them the fake forms for Rs200 each.

He said the police were searching for the other persons involved in the ‘fake business.
