ISLAMABAD: The former Information minister, Qamar Zaman Kaira denied reported news that he was to replace Fauzia Wahab for the post of central Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), DawnNews reported on Friday.

Kaira was talking to DawnNews, He said that the party’s core committee did not decide in Thursday's meeting to replace Fauzia with himself, and that Ms Wahab was still PPP’s spokesperson.

However he added that he would accept with gratitude if any political responsibility was given to him by the party’s leader ship.

Kaira expressed best wishes for the newly selected Information Minister Firdous Aashiq Awan, and said that she will learn her trade soon.

Reposing complete confidence in the top leadership of ruling Pakistan People's Party, Kaira said that being a political worker he was bound to follow party discipline and obey decisions of the leadership.

Kaira said he was thankful to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, who gave him important assignments during last three years, which he accomplished to their entire satisfaction.

He said it was the responsibility of top leadership to put the right man at the right place.

The PPP was following the policy of reconciliation to strengthen democracy in the country as per vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said.
