LAHORE: In a move to improve the condition of club football in the country, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has allowed departmental footballers to play for their primary club, thus ending the disputes that ignited several club protests in various districts of Pakistan.

Now a player of any department can be registered with a club of his own choice for any local competition from his hometown. PFF Secretary General Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi clarified that a registered player will not be allowed to register with any other club/department at the same period for local competitions.

Each year from 1-30 June, the transfer window for all players will be opened with a transfer fee of Rs.100 (Rs. 50 for new, Rs.500 for foreigner) submitted to the concerned District FAs.

Under the directives of President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, the ruling body of football in Pakistan has planned a fool proof system of registration for clubs/departments and the transfer of players, to develop a culture for the enhancement of football in the Pakistan, added Lodhi.

Lodhi added that a player will be allowed to get registration at only one club and one department for football activities in the country and any player, registered with departmental teams of PPFL and PFF league, will not be allowed to appear in the District League and District FA Cup.

PFF also set up a transfer window of the top two tiers of Pakistan football – the Pakistan Premier Football League and the PFF League. The window will open thirty days before the commencement of both events with the transfer fee from club to club being Rs.2000, department to department Rs.7500, club to department Rs.10, 000, department to club Rs.3000, new player with club Rs.1000, new player with department Rs.2000, local foreign player with a student/working visa Rs.3000, foreign player for club Rs.5000, foreign player for department Rs.15, 000.

The parent club of the player will get Rs. 5000 in the category of club to department from and Rs.1000 in case of new player with department.
