QUETTA, Feb 6: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani has saidthat there is no immediate plan to reduce the provincial cabinet.Talking to Dawn on Sunday night, he said a decision about the rightsizing of the cabinet could be taken after consultations with coalition partners.

The Balochistan cabinet, comprising representatives of PPP, PML-N, PML-Q, ANP, BNP-A and JUI-F and an independent, has 55 ministers and advisers.

Mr Raisani said that the situation was different in Balochistan from other provinces and no single party was in a position to form a stable government in Balochistan.

“Balochistan has always had big coalition governments,” the chief minister said, adding that because of its vast area the province had been given the maximum representation in the cabinet.

He said he would convene a meeting of all coalition parties before taking any decision about reducing the cabinet.
