Two killed in Indian shelling

MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 3: Police said on Thursday two people had been killed and three wounded by Indian firing across the Line of Control in Azad Kashmir.

Wednesday’s firing broke a two-day lull at the de facto border in the divided Himalayan region that lies at the centre of nine-month military standoff between the two rivals.

Three other people were killed and five wounded by Indian firing in Azad Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

Police said a woman was killed in a border village in Chakothi when Indian troops fired artillery at a village.

A man and a woman were also wounded in the attack, he said.
