Adieu, Javed Fazil

Noted Pakistani film director Javed Fazil passed away in Karachi on Dec 28. Early in his career that spanned a little more than three decades, he made a number of films, most of which were successful ventures.

Javed Fazil started his career assisting S. Suleman and then went on to make his own films. Lazawaal (Nadeem, Shabnam, Ghulam Mohyeddin) and Dahleez were two of his memorable films, but it was a film titled Bulandi that introduced Shaan and Reema (1989) which catapulted him to fame.

A few years back he joined the television industry and made plays, two of which were Mehndi and Chandni Raatein. Well played, director. Rest in peace.
