PESHAWAR, Sept 29: The NWFP government has allocated Rs252 million for the upgradation of district headquarters hospitals to improve health services at the local level and reduce burden on the tertiary hospitals, NWFP Health Minister Dr Mehr Taj Roghani said on Sunday.

Speaking at a function at the Hayatabad Medical Complex, organized to say farewell to HMC Medical Superintendent Dr Sirajuddin, the minister expressed her concern over prevalence of quackery in the province, which she said was creating serious problems.

She also lamented the use of used syringes and termed it a great cause of spreading of hepatitis.
