PESHAWAR, Sept 29: The heads of the all four private-sector universities, which have been awarded charters, called on the NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah here on Sunday.
The provincial Minister for Education, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, and Secretary Education, Tariq Jamil, were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the delegation, the governor said that the provincial govt and the people have pinned great hopes on the private sector for the promotion of quality education, and that they must come up to their expectations.
In fact, he said, we welcome all those who wish to contribute towards the promotion of education, but standards must be maintained.
He said that the provincial government has already created a separate department to solve the problems being faced by educational institutions.
