KARACHI, Dec 27: Karachi Gymkhana clinched the Super Veterans Over-60 Twenty20 cricket match when they beat Karachi Kings by nine wickets at the Karachi Gymkhana Ground here on Sunday.

Former Pakistan captain Zaheer Abbas, ex-Test opener Sadiq Mohammad and former Pakistan hockey captain Olympian Islahuddin Siddiqui were the star attractions of the match.

A 92-run unbroken second wicket stand between Nasir Shah and Akhtar Shah gave Karachi Gymkhana an easy win with three balls to spare.

Former first-class opener Nasir Shah scored an unbeaten 49 off 40 deliveries with four boundaries and Akhtar Shah hit 49 not out off 54 balls with four hits to the boundary. Islahuddin scored a quickfire 19 with two boundaries.

Earlier batting first, Karachi Kings were restricted to 135 for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs. Rafiq Allah Rakha top-scored with 51 off 43 balls with three strikes to the ropes.

Former Pakistan skipper Zaheer Abbas scored a patient 29 off 36 balls without hitting a boundary.

Aligarh University Blue and former first-class cricketer Bashir Ahmed Basti presented the winning trophy to KG skipper Masroor Mirza.
