KARACHI, Nov 11: Aqib Javed and Arshad Khan bowled Allied Bank Limited (ABL) to a 112-run victory over Customs in their Patron’s Trophy match at National Stadium Sunday to secure third position.

Set a 376 runs victory victory, Customs were bowled out for 263 half an hour before close on the fourth and final day with Test reject Shadab Kabir making a defiant 81 in 273 minutes with 11 boundaries.

Aqib, a former Test pacer and now national selector, captured five wickets for 73 runs in 24 overs while Pakistan reject Arshad Khan took four for 54 in marathon 34.5 overs of off-spin.

Left-handed Shadab Kabir kept Customs hopes alive by sharing in a 121-run third wicket stand with Naseem Khan after Agha Sabir was retired at 45, after being hit by a rising ball from Aqib Javed.

Quetta-born Naseem Khan batted stubbornly for his fine knock of 54 which contained three boundaries after batting for exactly three hours and facing 155 balls.
