LAHORE, Sept 27: The Lahore High Court on Friday ordered the release of five members of a family from the illegal confinement of landlord Gulshan of Mananwala and directed them to approach the competent forum against the extortion of their master for not paying wages according to the bonded labour act.

The court observed that detaining a person was an insult and against Islam.

The court also directed the Sheikhupura SSP to probe and take action against the landlord.

The petition was filed by Surraiya Bibi, a relative of the detainees.—APP
