HYDERABAD: Seven file papers for by-election

HYDERABAD, Sept 26: Seven candidates filed their nomination forms for the by-election of union councils, scheduled for Oct 21, on the last day of filing of nomination forms here on Thursday.

The candidates, Ayaz Ali, Barkat Ali, Ali Murad, Javed Mustafa, Amir Lateef, Sher Mohammad alias Khurram and Ali Hyder, filed their forms with Judicial Magistrate-I Fida Hussain Mughal, the returning officer for union council-II, Qasimabad.

Thirty-one posts of Nazims and seven of Naib Nazims have fallen vacant for different reasons.

In the Hyderabad District Council, four seats have fallen vacant as Dr Irfan Gul Magsi of Chambar-I union council, Ali Mohammad Walhari of Began Jarwar union council, Tando Allahyar, and Dr Najeeb Memon of Qasimabad-II union council are contesting the general election and Allah Bux Khoso, the Nazim of Odero Lal Station union council, died three months back.

Dr Magsi and Walhari are contesting as independent candidates for PS-52, Tando Allahyar-X, and Dr Memon is contesting for PS- 47, Qasimabad-V, on SDA ticket.
