Sarod player Asad Kazilbash is the young student of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. He presented raga Bageshri and was accompanied by Ejaz Husain on the tabla.

Ustad Naseeruddin Sami was accompanied by his sons. He sang the ragas Khambawati and Gor Sarang — presenting exquisite khayal and tarana in the respective ragas. Ustad belongs to the family of Mian Tanras Khan’s Delhi Gharana.

Sitar player Ustad Rais Khan and his son Farhan Khan presented a beautiful rendering in raga Joge.

Ustad Fateh Ali Khan of the Gwalior Gharana sang a khayal and then tarana in raga Kausi Kanhra.

Semi-classical singer Fariha Pervez sang Barre Ghulam Ali Khan’s famed thumri (Yaad Piya ki Aaye) accompanied by Ustad Bashir Khan on the tabla. She also sang Faiz’s Mujhe se Pehli si Muhabbat.

Pandit Mohan Bhatt played raga Joge Kauns on the improvised Hawaiian guitar. He was accompanied by his son, Salil Bhatt.

Ustad Bashir Khan’s performance on the tabla deserves a special mention. He accompanied Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and other maestros with such precision that it transported the audience into a state of ecstasy. — S.S.N
