Pakistan junior softball team denied Indian visa

KARACHI: The Pakistan junior softball team will not be able to travel to India to take part in the 4th Asian Junior Softball Championship scheduled to be held in Mumbai from December 12 to 16 after their visa was refused.

The team will be unable to participate after not getting the visa from Indian High Commission in Islamabad, a spokesman of the Pakistan Softball Federation announced on Friday.

“Our representative visited the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on several occasions but the visa was not granted,” he said.

He said the organizers in India have issued the necessary documents and clearance from Indian Interior Ministry but the visa was not issued.

A 24-member Pakistan squad including seven officials were to take part in the event.

Four top teams from Asian junior championship were to qualify for the World Junior Softball Championship.
