GHALANAI, Dec 7: The death toll in Monday's suicide bombings in Mohmand Agency rose to 45 after four injured people died in hospitals on Tuesday.
Moving scenes were witnessed during the victims' funeral.
All markets and offices in Ghalanai and other towns of Mohmand Agency remained closed in protest against the attack. The administration has announced three-day mourning in the region.
Security personnel, meanwhile, continued to sift through the debris and clear the wreckage. Power supply to the area could not be restored.
Political Agent Amjad Ali Khan attended the funeral prayers and visited victims' homes.
He announced a compensation of Rs100,000 for each of the two journalists killed in the explosions.
MNA Marvi Memon of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q also visited the blast site. She said her party would condemn the attack in the National Assembly.
