HYDERABAD, Nov 11: The city Nazim, Hyderabad, Moinuddin Shaikh, and the Naib Nazim, Abdul Qadeer Naghar (advocate), the other day held a meeting with the interior minister Lt Gen (retd) Moinuddin Haider and apprised him of the insurmountable problems being faced by the tehsil council.
They said that without the personal interest of the federal government, these problems could not be resolved.
They particularly referred to the alleged excesses by the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) and informed him that for the last 12 days the power supply to all the offices of the city council had been disconnected by Hesco.
They said that the revenue share of Hyderabad came to Rs16.5 million per month but only an amount of Rs12.6 million was being released while Rs3.9 million was being deducted at the source by the government as power charges.
They complained that despite this fact, the power supply to the city council offices had been disconnected which was unfair.
Mr Haider assured the city Nazim and Naib Nazim that he would personally intervene in the matter to resolve the problem.
He also discussed in detail the prevailing law and order situation.
