Abdullah shines in final

KARACHI, Nov 14 A brilliant all-round performance by Abdullah inspired Fahad Academy to a crushing seven-wicket victory over Kamran Public School in the final of the sixth Siemens-PVCA Inter-school Twenty20 cricket tournament at the UBL Sports Complex here the other day.

Batting first, Kamran Public were restricted to 103 for nine in the allotted 20 overs with Mohsin Ali (28) and Farooq Hasan (20) the main run-getters.

Abdullah captured three wickets for 11 runs while Bakht Munir also took three wickets for 13 runs.

Fahad Academy, in their chase, needed just 13.3 overs to lift the title by making 106-3 with Abdullah contributing 34. He was ably supported by Syed Inamullah (33) and Bakht Munir (25).

Later chief guest Anwar Ahmedzai, chairman of Board of Secondary Education Karachi, presented the winners' trophy to Fahad Academy skipper Irfanullah. Also present at the prize distribution ceremony were Fawad Ijaz Khan, chairman of Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA), Alamgir Ahmed, director PVCA and Brig (retired) Salahuddin.
