ISLAMABAD, Sept 20: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed a provincial assembly candidate from PP-102, Mudassar Nara, to contest.

His nomination papers were rejected by the returning officer, and the election tribunal.

The petitioner stated that his nomination papers were rejected on the ground that his proposer was not from the same constituency.

The petitioner stated that his proposer was a voter from the same constituency, but due to delimitation of the constituencies, his house now falls in the new constituency.

The bench comprising Justice Qazi Mohammad Farooq, Justice Rana Bhagwandas, and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar allowed the petitioner to contest the elections.
