KARACHI, Sept 18: Sindhi speaking members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee and those contesting elections, on Wednesday urged permanent residents of Sindh — especially those in urban areas — to vote for the MQM during the general elections.
Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club (KPC), member MQM Coordination Committee Ali Ahmed Brohi, along with Sindhi speaking MQM contesting candidates, said Sindhis could only get their rights by “struggling under MQM’s banner and its Quaid’s leadership.”
He alleged that all political and Sindhi nationalist parties used the Sindh card in the past to get votes from Sindhi people, but instead of delivering the goods, they always protected the “establishment’s interests”.
Extending felicitations to MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain, Brohi said only he could have bridged the gap between permanent residents of Sindh and the Urdu speaking population living in the urban areas of the province.
He praised the MQM leader for nominating Sindhi speaking candidates in the elections.—PPI
