KARACHI, Oct 21: Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Plgmea) on Thursday sought revision of duty drawback rates.

A Plgmea delegation headed by Fawad Ijaz Khan met Director Input Output Co-efficient Organisation (IOCO) of Customs Abdul Rashid Sheikh and apprised him that the duty drawback rates on leather garments and leather handbags were below the realistic ones.

According to the association the real calculations of duty drawback should be 4.62 per cent on export of leather garments and 4.50 per cent for leather handbags.

The association had been also demanding single rate for all types of leather garments instead of different rates notified by FBR and were unilaterally slashed.

Abdul Rashid assured the delegation that he would look into the grievances of Plgmea members.
