HYDERABAD, Nov 10: The superintendent of central prison Hyderabad, in a letter to the IG prison of the province, has described the prevailing law and order situation in the prison as worst and demanded the help of the authorities to back the new administration of the jail.
The jail superintendent, Mohammad Altaf Malik, who took over the charge on October 1, has sought no objection certificate from District and Sessions Judge for the temporary shifting of 70 to 80 prisoners out of 2,600 from his prison and stressed the need for the visit of the jail by a high court judge.
He claimed that 90 per cent of the prisoners were peaceful while 10 per cent were hardened criminals.—Correspondent
