HYDERABAD, Sept 14: The EDO, education, Hyderabad here on Saturday instructed the administrations of higher secondary schools and colleges to charge only Rs500 computer fees from the students.
He also directed that those students, who had already paid Rs1,000 computer fee, should be refunded Rs500 by Sept 16.
He pointed out that the Sindh government had decided to reduce the computer fee from Rs1,000 to Rs500 per annum.
SEMINAR: The Department of Psychology, University of Sindh, organized a seminar on Ism-i-Azam therapy and mental health in the Jamshoro campus on Saturday.
The guest speaker, Maj Mohammad Arif Khan, a senior psychologist at the ISSB, Malir Cantonment, Karachi, said that Imam Jaffar Sadiq, a great Muslim scholar, introduced the recitation of Ism-i-Azam for healing mental patients and resolving psycho-spiritual problems of disturbed persons.
He said that the recitation of Ism-i- Azam had a significant effect on the temperamental dispositions and behavioural pattern of an individual and gives him peace of mind.
He said that it strengthened one’s mental and physical endurance and enhanced his will power and determination.
Dr Nagina Parveen Soomro, chairperson, Department of Psychology, said that of late the development of indigenous psychology had become an important movement all over the world. Prof Iqbal Ahmed Qureshi, dean, faculty of Social Sciences, presided over the seminar.
