MMA vows to enforce Shariat
RAWALPINDI, Sept 12: Local leaders of Mutahida Majlas-i- Ammal (MMA) on Thursday said, if voted to power, they would enforce Shariat in the country and solve socio-economic problems of the people.
Speaking at a joint press conference, the local leaders, said the MMA had a comprehensive manifesto, covering all aspects of life.
Those present on the occasion included Maulana Abdul Majeed Hazarvi, a candidate from PP-11; Tariq Munir Butt, NA-55; and Ch Mohammad Hanif, PP-12.
The MMA leaders vowed to eliminate unemployment and establish a system of justice in the country.
The country has been in the grip of foreign agents for the last 55 years, Maulana Hazarvi said, adding that the MMA would not only eliminate this slavery, but also restore Pakistan’s honour and dignity in the comity of nations.
Replying to a question, the MMA representatives doubted the fairness of the forthcoming elections and warned the government to refrain from patronizing any party, or else their activists would come out to the streets to bring a revolution in the country. Not only the MMA workers and activists, but the whole nation will oppose any such move and take part in the revolution, they maintained.
To another question, they said they had not yet entered into any seat adjustment with the PPP and the PML.
The MMA representatives said they were in direct fight with the US and other exploitative forces and not the PPP and the PML. “Our victory will give a great set-back to the capitalists and usurpers,” they added.
