PESHAWAR, Sept 10: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has decided to persuade international donor agencies to provide financial assistance for the conservation of dilapidated monuments and archaeological sites in Peshawar and Lahore.

At a meeting held here, Unesco agreed to provide $138,000 for conducting studies of the walled city of Peshawar, Shalimar Garden and Lahore Fort, sources said. The meeting was attended by Unesco representatives and officials of the archaeology departments.—Bureau
