LAHORE, Sept 9: The bodies of Pakistanis, killed by Italian police, arrived here on Monday.

Four illegal entrants of Pakistani origin were arrested in March in Italy. During body search, they were found in possession of the Quranic verses which, the Italian authorities took as terrorists’ code words.

The arrested Pakistanis were taken to Scopia where they were shot dead by the Italian police, alleging that they were terrorists planning attack on the US and Western interests in Italy.

The US, however, refused to acknowledge them terrorists, belonging to the Al Qaeda network, and planning attacks on its interests.

The Insar Burney Trust managed the UN Secretary General’s intervention in the matter and succeeded in bringing the bodies back.
