RAWALPINDI, Sept 15: A man lost gold ornaments, cash and a pistol after some burglars broke into his house in the strictly-guarded Defense Housing Scheme, while a woman was robbed of her purse in Satellite Town, police said on Wednesday.
Abid Shah, a retired colonel and resident of Defense Housing Authority Phase 1, told Civil Lines police that he had gone to visit his relatives after locking hishouse. When he returned he found the locks of his house broken and households scattered.
On listing the items, he found Rs120,000 cash, gold ornaments weighing 45 tolas and a gun stolen from the house.
Ms Shaista told New Town police that she was going to a shop when two motorcycle riders intercepted her and snatched her purse which contained Rs8,000 cash and a cellphone.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Sarwar’s van (IDL-6302) was stolen by some thieves from Sadiqabad, Nazir Ahmed’s car (IDN-6355) was taken away from outside Nawaz Sharif Park while Mohammad Zaheer’s van was stolen from New Town.
Ms Nargis lodged a similar complaint of car theft with Cantonment police while another car (PK-541) went missing from Airport police area.
