ISLAMABAD, Sept 8 Hollywood star and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie, while on a visit to some flood affected parts of Nowshera and adjoining areas, may have accidentally met some members of Times Square terror suspect Faisal Shahzad.
An official of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Islamabad confirmed to Dawn that on Wednesday that Ms Jolie had visited Mohib Banda, the ancestral village of Shahzad, but expressed serious doubts if she met any members of the terror suspect's family. However, a report by the Press Trust of India said Shahzad's close relatives were among those who met Ms Jolie during her visit to the village. The PTI report said Ms Jolie inspected the flood-hit ancestral home of Shahzad at Mohib Banda. The outer walls of Shahzad's family's house had collapsed because of the floods, and according to the PTI report among those who met Ms Jolie there included Kifayat Khan, described as a close relative of Shahzad.
A UNHCR official said that during the visit Ms Jolie mostly met women in Mohib Banda and its vicinity, and a very aged man, but doubted if he was related to Faisal Shahzad.
Pakistani officials say Faisal Shahzad's immediate relatives had already moved out of the village, and were currently living in the Hayatabad residential district of Peshawar, but there was a possibility that some distant relatives might still be living in the village house.
