LAHORE, Sept 3: The Anjuman Mazareen Punjab has decided to move the Lahore High Court against the rejection of nomination of its candidate, Mehr Abdus Sattar, from PA-191, Okara.
A petition in this regard will be filed on Wednesday (today) as the party has obtained a copy of the returning officer’s verdict on the issue.
The verdict carries allegations of serious nature against Mr Sattar, including involvement in terror and anti-state activities, chanting slogans against army and police, and creating law and order situation.
Mr Sattar had resigned as union council 10 Nazim to contest October polls on the persuasion of the Okara military farms tenants so that he could raise their voice from the floor of the house.
Legal experts here believe that as Mr Sattar had not been convicted in any case so there was no justification for rejecting his papers and the higher court might redress the grievance.
