Blast leaves 7 dead in China

BEIJING, Sept 1: Seven people have been killed and 20 others injured by an explosion at a residential compound in south China’s Guangxi province, local officials said Sunday.

The blast happened on Friday night at 11:00 pm at a two-and-a-half-story apartment building in Guangxi province’s Liuzhou city when many of the residents were inside, a local police officer said.

An official at the local fire department said a total of seven people died.—AFP
