PESHAWAR, Aug 31: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai visited Orakzai Agency and formally launched various projects for the uplift of the area at Satar Sam, Und Khel, Mirazai and Kalat.

During the visit, the corps commander laid foundation-stone of road Und Khel-Ukh Kandao, Which will be completed within seven months at an estimated cost of Rs14 million.

Talking informally to the youth of the area, the Corps Commander urged them to make full use of opportunities the government was providing to the youth in tribal areas.

“Government wants to utilize your potential by developing human resources of the entire tribal belt”, he said. General Orakzai also announced to provide free books and educational aids to youth of the area.

Addressing jirgas of tribal elders at various places, he also announced the setting up of a degree college and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for Ghiljoo. He said a project for an eye hospital was also under consideration.

“A feasibility report for provision of utility gas for tribal area is also being reviewed”, he said.

General Officer Commanding Major-General Tahir and Political Agent Dr Tashfeen was also present on the occasion.
