LARKANA, Aug 29: Ali Gohar Junejo, the PML-Q candidate for PS-38 Larkana, here on Thursday filed objections against the nomination of the PPP chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, with the returning officers of NA-204, Larkana-I, and NA-207, Larkana-IV.

Listing his objections, he alleged that Benazir had been dismissed twice from the government due to her ‘disloyalty to the country’ and she was involved in ‘anti-state activities’.

When Dawn asked Junejo to show the supporting documents, he said that he did not have them at the moment.

His application, received at the office of the returning officer for NA-204, also did not contain the attached papers that he had shown in the annexture.

The court asked him to be present on Sept 1, the date fixed for the scrutiny of Benazir’s nomination papers.

Meanwhile, as the scrutiny process continues, the nomination papers of 14 candidates for the Larkana seats of the national and provincial assemblies were accepted and only one form filed from PS-35 was rejected here on Thursday.

Khalid Mehmood Bhatti, returning officer for PS-35, rejected the form of the PML-Q leader, Mohammed Bakhsh Jatoi, on the grounds that his proposer belonged to Larkana city while the candidate had filed papers from the rural area.

The nomination papers of the following candidates were accepted:

NA-204 (Larkana-I): Babu Sarfraz Jatoi (PML-N), Mohammed Anwar Bhutto (PPP).

NA-205 (Larkana-II): Qadir Bakhsh Brohi (PPP).

PS-35: Altaf Hussain Unnar (PML-Q), Manzoor Cholyani (PML-N).

PS-37: Ali Asghar Umrani (PPP-SB), Mohammed Anwar Bhutto (PPP), Zia Ahmed Jalbani (independent)..

PS-38: Ms Nasim Sahito (National Alliance), Hafiz Irshad Ahmed Kumbhar (Sunni Tehrik), Saeed Ahmed Bhutto (PPP-SB).
