PESHAWAR, Aug 29: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai visited Kurram Agency Frontier Region adjacent to Afghanistan border on Thursday and inspected developmental projects in the area, an ISPR press release said.
Gen Orakzai inaugurated Tora Wari-Mandan road and laid the foundation stone of two primary schools in Drani and Bari Zona. The 23km road will be completed in three months.
On the occasion, the corps commander said the government had planned to provide basic facilities to the people of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
The government has engaged Frontier Works Organisation in the areas, including the Tirah Valley, to construct roads, schools and health care units.
He said work would be started on many projects under the Annual Development Programme and 25 primary schools would be established in Zani Masht and Khonai Dadkhel areas.
He said schemes would be completed in Khyber and Waziristan agencies and Kurram FR under the supervision of army and work on new projects would be initiated soon.
He said the government would give top priority to health, education and communication sectors in the tribal areas and under Khushal Pakistan Programme 60 link roads would be constructed in Kurram FR and Orakzai Agency, besides the construction of Mandan-Ghanza-Dogar road.
He said electricity would be provided to eight villages in Mandikhel and Aishkhel areas during the year.
