PEPCO withdraws changes in power tariff

LAHORE According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) sources, new power tariff would not be imposed and there would be no change in electricity rates.

Earlier, Pepco announced separate electricity rates for day and night.

These variable rates were applied to the consumers utilizing load of five kilowatt or more of the electricity.

Pepco announced that 'Peak Hours', from 0600pm to 1100pm, rates were fixed at Rs11.77 per unit, while, 'Off Peak Hours', 1100pm to 0600pm, rates were fixed at Rs7.18 per unit.

Also it stated that the consumers using five kilowatt electricity or more had to install 'time of use meter' and also they had to bear the expenses of the meter. — DawnNews
