Two-day Academy match called off

KARACHI, Aug 26: Two-day practice match between Karachi Regional Academy and Muridke Regional Academy was washed out at National Stadium Monday following downpour in the city.

Karachi Regional Academy were dismissed after making 313 in 88.5 overs with Test reject Faisal Iqbal slamming 122 with 14 boundaries and a six after batting for 228 minutes.

Muridke Regional Academy in reply were 120 for two wickets in 33.5 overs when play was stopped just after lunch due to heavy rains.

When play was called off, skipper Kamran Sajid with 23 and Shahid Yousuf (45) were at the crease, having added 73 runs for the unbroken third wicket stand.

Kamran hit two fours in his subdued 23 after facing 93 balls in 160 minutes stay at the crease. Shahid Yousuf 45 with laced with six hits to the ropes. He batted for just one minute under two hours and consumed 84 balls.

In the meantime three-month long training session of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Academies ended after the two-day game.

Boys from Sindh and Balochistan region attending the Karachi Regional Academy will leave for their respective home Tuesday.

Earlier Karachi Regional Academy beat Muridke Regional Academy in a 50 overs match played at the National Stadium.
