KARACHI, Aug 24: Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan on Saturday directed that immediate steps be taken to start the construction of Khadda Super Market and auctioning of 84 shops of Chakiwara Market and Football Stadium.

He issued these directives during a visit of Saddar and Lyari Towns to review the ongoing cleanliness drive. The Nazimeen of the two Towns, Farooq Fariya and Abdul Khaliq Jumma, accompanied the City Nazim.

Mr Khan visited almost all the union councils of the two towns and reviewed the cleanliness situation.

During a visit to Lyari Town, the city Nazim was taken to a round of Khadda Market where Town Nazim Khaliq Jumma informed that decision for construction of this market with 500 shops was taken in 1993 but work is yet to start.

The Nazim directed that work on the market be started immediately and called for relevant project file. While visiting various parts of the town, the Nazim also went round the football stadium.—APP
