HYDERABAD, Aug 21: The relatives of the electrician who was electrocuted in the Sindhi Muslim Housing Society while trying to restore electricity to the residence of the secretary, Hyderabad Gymkhana, Javed Junejo, staged a protest demonstration in front of the Qasimabad police station demanding the arrest of Mr Junejo on Wednesday.
Police said that Mr Junejo had not been arrested so far.
Mr Junejo has gone underground following the registration of a case by the Qasimabad police about the electrocution of the electrician, who was identified as Yasin Kachi, father of five, on late Tuesday night.
Mr Yasin was a resident of Nashtar Colony, Unit No15, Latifabad.
He had three daughters and two sons. His eldest daughter is 11 years old. He was a very poor man. He was laid to rest in the Tando Yousuf graveyard on Wednesday.
He had been working as an electrician with the Construction Technical International, which was engaged in some work in the Hyderabad Gymkhana.
A resident of the area said that he was working in the Gymkhana when Mr Junejo called him for restoring his electricity. He scaled over the pole without having any proper gear resulting in his electrocution.
The SDO, Hesco, Qasimabad sub-division, Irshad Ali Memon, had disconnected the power supply to Mr Junejo’s residence.
