LAHORE, Aug 19: The PML-QA and the JUP (Niazi Group) on Monday agreed to put up joint candidates in the elections.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the leaders of the two parties.

JUP Secretary-General Sahibzada Pir Abdur Rauf Qayyumi and chief organizer Syed Shams Haider met PML-QA leaders Mian Muhammad Azhar, Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to discuss the possible cooperation.

Both sides believed that their cooperation would be in the national interest.—Staff Reporter
