LAHORE, Aug 16: A patient died in Mayo Hospital on Wednesday for want of an oxygen cylinder.

The woman had been brought to the coronary care unit of the hospital in critical condition. Diagnosing severe respiratory problems, the doctors sent for an oxygen cylinder which was not “available.”

An AGHS employee, Faheem Gohar, whose mother was on the next bed, said he, too, had to call the health minister to obtain a cylinder for her. — Staff Reporter
