Staff owes millions of rupees to Hesco

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 12: The Hesco, Mirpurkhas division, has failed to recover outstanding dues worth millions of rupees from its defaulting employees residing in Wapda Colony as well as in other areas of the city.

While, on the directives of the Hesco chief executive, the power supply to hundreds of domestic and commercial defaulters had been cut off and their meters taken away.

Reliable sources told this correspondent that Hesco employees residing in Wapda Colony and in other areas of the city were defaulters of millions of rupees.

It was also learnt that many of them were using air-conditioners at their residences but the authorities concerned had exempted them from paying their bills.

Due to short recovery in the division, the Hesco chief had strictly ordered the XEN, Mirpurkhas division, to disconnect the power supply of the defaulters.

In compliance with the directives, hundreds of power connections of small consumers were disconnected.

ARRESTED: Three absconders were arrested by the police in the district during the last 24 hours.

Two absconders, Mohammed Raheem and Zahid Mehmood, were arrested by the Taluka police. While the third absconder, Mohammed Hanif, was arrested by the Kot Ghulam Mohammed police.
