HARIPUR, Aug 8: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) will emerge as the single largest force in the country as it has decided to revive the same ideology on the basis of which Pakistan was created.
This was stated by the speakers at a day-long training workshop organized by the Jamaat-i-Islami on ‘Election 2002 ‘ here on Thursday.
Jamaat activists criticized the policies of government, saying that the followers of Attaturk’s ideology were hell bent on secularizing the country which had been created in the name of Kalema-i-Tayyaba.
They lambasted the government for allegedly launching a movement against Madaris, and termed it a move against the Islamic.
When the entire anti-Muslim world was bent upon declaring the Muslims as terrorist the unification of religious forces in Pakistan was a good omen, Jamaat leaders stated and vowed to bring about banking system without Riba and impose Islamic Shariah after getting into power.
They asked the religious-minded voters to support the candidates of the MMA in the October election.
The JI leaders who spoke on this occasion included Salim Adil, Mehboob Elahi, Dr Tariq Sherazi and others.
Later, the MMA component parties unanimously elected the office-bearers for its district chapter.
Maulana Fazal-i-Maula of JUI(S) was elected as president, Maulana Ibrahim of Jamiat-i-Ahle Hadith as secretary, and Syed Lal Shah Advocate of Jamaat, Maulana Qazi Abdul Haleem of JUI (S) and Maulana Taj Mohammad of JUI (F) as vice-presidents.
