NAROWAL, July 30: A woman had to undergo ordeal of a second major operation within 10 days due to the negligence and carelessness of doctors.

Ms Ishrat, the wife of Tanvir Ahmad of Mauza Mirk, had given birth to a still child through Caesarean section in the Fatima Hospital here. She felt severe pain in her abdomen a few days later and contacted the surgeon who told her that she would have to undergo another operation as a towel and a handkerchief, left in her abdomen mistakenly, had to be removed.

Social circles here, criticizing the doctor for carelessness, demanded strict action against her.—APP
