NEW DELHI, July 30: Power supply to the whole of western India was cut off on Tuesday evening due to a collapse of the electricity supply network, the Press Trust of India reported.

“The western grid has collapsed. There is no power supply in five to six states including Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh,” Director (Operations) of Power Grid Corporation of India Bhanu Bhushan said.

He said India’s financial capital Mumbai was not affected by the power breakdown.—AFP
