RAWALPINDI, Nov 5: Habib Bank and Sui Gas drew their four-day Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match here at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium Monday.
Sui Gas, overnight 229 for six and needing another 28 runs to avoid follow on, were successful in doing that and went on to score 307 conceding a lead of 99 runs.
Habib Bank in their second innings had put on 214 for nine when play ended on the last day.
Abid Mahmood not out on four Sunday, stayed at the wicket for a good while and helped his side out of trouble. He was however unlucky to miss his half century by one run when he was dismissed by Akram Raza. Abdur Rauf made a brisk 27.
Pacers Kabir Khan and Shahid Nazir shared six wickets between.
Habib Bank batsmen did not seem too serious when they began their second innings in which Farhan Adil top-scored with 76 and opener Imran Farhat chipped in with 40.
Among the wicket-takers were Asad Iqbal, who had three for 35 and Abdur Rauf and Azhar Abbas, both of whom snapped up two wickets apiece.
