LAHORE The Punjabi film 'Channa Sachi Muchi', earlier scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Azha, will not be hitting screens on the day due to security concerns.

Director and producer of the film Ijaz Bajwa told media persons in a press conference held at his production house in Model Town Extension on Tuesday.

Bajwa said it took him four years to complete the film because he developed differences with some colleagues.

'I was eager to release my debut film as a director and producer but present circumstances do not allow me to do so.'

He said the film was something related to public and the public was avoiding places such as cinema houses and other recreational spots out of the fear of suicidal attacks.

Bajwa said he would announce the new date for the film release after sometime.

Moamar Rana, who is in the film cast, said the director had left no stone unturned in producing a good film that could match Indian films being screened in country cinema houses.

Another male lead, Babar Ali, hoped the film would click at the box office. He said the film fraternity in Pakistan was responsible for the present sad situation of the industry.

Some film songs and trailers were also shown to newspersons on the occasion.

The film revolves around a love story set in the background of partition of India in 1947 with a Muslim boy Baoo (Moamar Rana) and a Hindu girl, Puja, played by Saima.

The cast also include Hina Shaheen, Mehr Hasan, Naghma Begum and Shafqat Cheema.
