Some unknown saboteurs blew up two towers of Wapda at Jangoo Ghari causing power disconnection to Kohat and its surrounding areas, says a press release issued by Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) here on Thursday.
The Pesco claimed that power supply to the areas would be restored properly by Thursday evening, but temporary arrangements had been made to provide power supply to effected areas on rotation.
The statement said due to load management power supply would remain suspended in Kohat, Lachi, Hangu, Parachinar, Godgori, North and South Waziristan tribal agencies.
This is the forth time when some unknown saboteurs blasted the Wapda towers in the tribal areas. Previously, Wapda towers at Dara Adamkhel, Ghalani and Bara ares had been blown up.
Meanwhile, Chief Engineer of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), Syed Bashir Ali Shah, has said bombs were planted at the towers, which were later detonated by the terrorists. As a result the two towers razed to ground.
Briefing the newsmen at Wapda House here on Thursday, he demanded of the provincial government to tighten security around the Pesco installations and arrest the culprits immediately. He said the blasts caused Rs 1.2 million loss to the national exchequer.
