HYDERABAD, July 25: Three sisters and their brother, belonging to Hirabad, have appealed to authorities concerned to protect them against the excesses of the Nazim of Qasimabad taluka.
Speaking at a joint news conference at the press club here on Thursday, they accused the Nazim of blackmailing and threatening them with a view to taking over the possession of their land.
Moazzama Khatoon, daughter of Qavi Ahmad, who spoke on behalf of her sisters, Khursheed Begum and Shahzadi, and brother, Aziz Ahmad, said they owned over nine acres of agricultural land in Shah Bukhari deh near Hyderabad Bypass.
She alleged that the Nazim had come to their house and had threatened her of dire consequences.
She said the watercourse of their land was also destroyed and closed as a result of which their crops had dried up. She said their four haris had also disappeared.
Ms Khatoon said they had submitted an application to the DPO, Hyderabad, which was forwarded to the Hatri police station for inquiry but no action had been taken so far. Applications were also sent to the chief engineer of Kotri Barrage and the executive engineer concerned but all in vain, she added.
She also produced photocopies of the applications she had submitted to the DPO and chief engineer, Kotri.
