SI held, stolen car recovered

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, July 24: The sub-inspector police (SI), investigation, Kandiaro, Mumtaz Bugti, was arrested and a stolen car was recovered from his possession on late Tuesday night.

A school teacher of Cheho, Pir Abdullah, had complained to senior officials that SIP Mumtaz Ali Bugti, who was heavily intoxicated, came to his house, abused him, and threatened him of dire consequences.

The SHO, Padidan, Zulfiqar Pirzada, was directed to make an enquiry regarding it.

The SHO arrested the SI, Mumtaz Bugti, in a drunken state and sent him to the Padidan Hospital for a check-up. When it was learnt from the medical report that he was intoxicated, he was sent to the police lock-up.

During investigation, it was learnt that a car (E-0020), which had been recovered from him, was without documents.

The TPO, Naushahro Feroze, Muzaffar Kalwar, said that SI Bugti had claimed that he had purchased this car from Gul Mohammed Soomro.

The TPO claimed that Gul Mohammed Soomro was the leader of a gang of car thieves and was involved in some eight cases at various police stations.

The Padidan police confirmed the facts saying that a report had been lodged regarding it and an investigation was going on.

PPP: The PPP held its first corner meeting in Darya Khan Mari the other day.

It was declared that Hidayatullah Behan (son of Haji Rahmatullah Behan, ex-MNA) and Riaz Ahmed Jamali (son of Khan Mohammed Jamali) would be the candidates for NA-12 Moro and PS-23 Moro respectively. Both have applied for a PPP ticket.

Riaz Ahmed Jamali, while addressing the corner meeting, said that the workers were ready to struggle even if the PPP was put in trouble.

ROBBERS: Three robbers snatched a motorcycle (HDL-151) on the National Highway near Moro.

The Moro police followed the robbers, arrested one of them, Mehboob Langah, and recovered the motorcycle. However, his two accomplices fled.
