Nazimeen, health body chief threaten to quit: Transfer of MS

SARGODHA, July 24: Some 40 Nazimeen of various union councils headed by District Health Committee Chairman Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti have threatened the health ministry they will resign, if the transfer of medical superintendent Dr Mazhar Rasheed is not cancelled within 72 hours.

Dawn learnt on Wednesday that district Nazim Malik Amjad Noon had issued four reminders to the health secretary for the cancellation of Dr Rasheed’s transfer but without success.

Meanwhile, various social organizations and the District Bar Association’s office-bearers claimed the former MS had introduced various reforms and forced the specialists to be present at the DHQ Hospital. Over this, they claimed a lobby managed to get him transferred.

ELECTIONS: After a settlement with the National Accountability Bureau, two former MPAs Chaudhry Shahnawaz Ranjha and Chaudhry Farrukh Javed Ghuman have decided that they will field their sons in the general elections.

Talking to newsmen on Wednesday, Mr Ranjha said he would maintain his loyalty with PML(N) and field his son in the elections while Mr Ghuman is silent about his future plans.

However, he is likely to field his son Faisal Javed Ghuman from his native constituency.
