Councillor among a dozen booked

FAISALABAD, July 23: D-Type Colony police claimed on Tuesday having registered a case against a dozen people, including a councillor, accused of receiving ‘jagga tax’ from the drivers of urban transport.

Reports said councillor Mian Aslam and some other people received Rs35 for each trip from drivers plying vehicles on the Faisalabad-Samundri Road.

On the complaint of FUT administrator Muhammad Anwar, area police have registered a case against the accused with no arrest so far.

KILLED: Two persons were killed in separate incidents in the district on Tuesday.

Reports said one Muhammad Iqbal clubbed his brother Muhammad Ilyas to death following a quarrel in Muzaffar Colony.

Factory area police have booked Iqbal on the report of his brother Muhammad Ikram.
