PESHAWAR, July 23: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has condemned the police baton-charge on teachers in Lahore, preventing them from presenting a memorandum of demands to the officials at the Civil Secretariat.

The commission said the violent action of the police indicated the determination of the government to suppress citizens, wishing to draw attention to matters that affect them, says a press released issued on Tuesday.—Bureau Report
